11 July 2021 —In support to the National Livestock Program of the Department of Agriculture, a 20-day training on Basic Meat Inspection was conducted at ATI-RTC 02, Cabagan and San Mateo, Isabela on June 21-July 10, 2021.
The said training aims to equip LGU meat inspection officers with the necessary and appropriate knowledge, skills, and attitude in basic meat inspection.
This training is in collaboration with the National Meat Inspection Services (NMIS) – Regional Operation and Technical Center 02 headed by Dr. Ronnie Ernst Duque.
Dr. Jocelyn Salvador, Executive Director of NMIS virtually attended and confirmed the graduates during the closing program. “We have to work with dignity, prove to them that you are the new breed of meat inspectors, who will serve in accordance to our standards, and ensure that our food (meat) is safe”, she said. Also, Dr. Salvador expressed her gratitude to ATI for approving their proposal, and looking forward for more activities with ATI.
