3 July 2021 — The Department of Agriculture (DA) led by Secretary William Dar discussed and assessed the plan for the Agricultural Commodity Examination Area (ACEA) in Subic Bay Freeport Zone with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairperson and Administrator Atty. Wilma Eisma at the Building 229, Waterfront Rd, Olongapo, Zambales on July 1.
ACEA is the tentative name of the project that aims to strengthen the agricultural quarantine inspection procedures at the first border by implementing a thorough inspection of containerized agricultural commodities based on the Risk Assessment Categorization list complemented by the X-ray screening.
Local agricultural producers such as farmers, fishers, and livestock raisers will also be benefitting from this project.
In addition, the said activity was attended by Undersecretary for Livestock William Medrano, Regional Executive Director Crispulo Bautista Jr., and Bureau of Animal Industry OIC-Director Dr. Reildrin Morales.
