What seemed to be a far-fetched vision then, is now slowly turning into reality. Situated in an upland-mountainous terrain, getting to and from Barangay Las Nieves, Sitio Subait, would require traversing an off-road track. However, that did not stop DA RFO 13 from reaching out to the communities in Las Nieves. The barangay is among the first farmer communities affected by African Swine Fever, not to mention amid the height of the COVID19 Pandemic. It was a very difficult time for our farmers, as their means to livelihood was heavily impacted. One year after the INSPIRE program began engaging Kahugpungan sa Katawhan sa Sitio Subait Multi-Purpose Cooperative, plans are about to be realized as the farmer cooperative, the DA, and the LGU continue their auspicious tripartite partnership.During the DA’s community visit in Sitio Subait last May 25, 2022, Cooperative Chairman Segundino Bautista lead the team to the parcel of land where their proposed swine facility will be constructed. Later on, there was a discussion with the engineers in charge of the project on how the facility can be further enhanced and augmented.
