6 August 2021 — The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 2 through its Livestock Program distributed today, August 6, 2021 154 upgraded goats to farmers in the Cagayan towns of Abulug, Claveria, Iguig, Lal-lo and Aparri West.
The farmer-beneficiaries were heavily hit during the onslaught of typhoon Ulysses which submerged Cagayan in November last year.

The Department of Agriculture earmarked P2.2 billion in assistance to Region II (Cagayan Valley) farmers who were severely-affected by Typhoon Ulysses.

The breakdown of the aid includes P846 million allocated for Cagayan province, P986 million for Isabela province, P148 million for Nueva Vizcaya province, and P18 million for Quirino province.
The Livestock Program’s personnel have been going around the Region since February to distribute ruminants; cows, free range chickens and sentinel piglets for BabayASF.
