20 July 2021 — Seven hog raisers from Barangays Pinagbayanan, Balagbag, Tipas, Ticalan, and Buhay na Sapa, Municipality of San Juan receive a total of 21 sentinel animals on July 20, 2021. This is to monitor if ASF is still present in their respective farms. If found negative for ASF test, after series of specimen collection and laboratory testing, the said Barangay can be re-classified to a “pink zone” ASF status.
The said distribution is part of the “Bantay ASF sa Barangay” project under the Department of Agriculture – National Livestock Program. ITCPH and NLP Director Dr. Ruth S. Miclat-Sonaco witnessed the turn-over of animals to the representatives of San Juan, Batangas.
